Elise has continued to turn to her mat for growth, strength and pain/stress relief throughout her yoga and physical fitness journey. She feels her practices change and flow depending on how she feels each day, each season. Growing up as a swimmer most of her life, she was used to workouts and physical demands. Out of the pool for several years, she turned to running, but it was not a great choice for her joints. She initially turned to yoga out of curiosity and looking for a way to stay physically fit while dealing with the pain of scoliosis.
Long story short, she took teacher training just to learn more about the physical practice and had no desire to teach others. Within a week of graduating her training, she was teaching classes at a gym. Her style started out as a Power Vinyasa, but as the years went on her practice branched out. She still loves a good workout with Vinyasa, Barre and yoga sculpt, but has also loves gentle flow, yin and restorative yoga just as much. She weaves in intention, breathwork, mindfulness and sometimes nuggets of Chakra, Ayurveda and more into her classes. To her it's the perfect balance - work and ease, whatever is calling to her and her students that day.
