Maureen Berry Bio 2024

Maureen Berry, BFA, TCRG is the Owner/Director of the Teelin Irish Dance Company. With over two decades of experience, Maureen holds certifications from An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha and the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America. She's received numerous awards, including the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award and the Howie Award for Outstanding Artist. Recognized for teaching excellence, Maureen received the 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award from Irish Dance Magazine. Her career spans competitive Irish step dancing, global performances with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble, Brian O’Donovan’s A Celtic Sojourn, and currently touring her show Celtic Journey.   Maureen has a dance degree from Towson University, and is qualified to teach dance fitness, line dancing, and couples dancing.

In 2014, Maureen received her 200 hour teacher training certification from Sid Yoga, a Baron Baptiste affiliate. She has been teaching every day in person at the Teelin Studio and offers daily Zoom classes.  Her Pilates based yoga class is called “Moga”.  In 2015, Maureen received her paddle boarding fitness certification from “Paddle Fit”.  She specializes anywhere from group fitness on the water, training beginners, and training paddle board racers. 

Maureen is also known for her musical proficiency in the button accordion, the coolest instrument ever!  She also plays many progressive instruments including the Bodhran and Cajon.
