Tara Polhamus

My name is Tara Polhamus.  I am a 48 year old and was born in raised in Virginia.  I began my dancing career at the age of four.  I continued dance throughout high school and became a dance instructor at 16 years old at a local dance studio.  I continued taking dance classes through college and participated in musicals the college I attended in North Carolina.  I moved back to Virginia to complete my master's degree and began teaching dance again.  After 2 years of teaching I graduated from grad school and took a break from dance as I started my career and family. I was a school social worker for 10 years and then stopped working to take care of my children.  In 2013, I took a hip hop class at a local dance studio.  Soon after I began attending Zumba at the gym I attended.  I took Zumba for a little over a year when I decided to become a licensed instructor.
