Michelle Mayer

Fitness has been my passion for my entire life and I love the opportunity to help others achieve their fitness goals.  Having spent years running, cycling and taking group fitness classes at our local YMCA, in 2009, I finally committed to becoming an instructor to help others on their fitness journeys.  Since then I’ve been teaching ten or more classes a week in a wide range of formats—everything from Active Older Adult classes to kickboxing.

 

In addition to teaching group exercise classes, I am a wellness coach for the LiveStrong Cancer Survivor program and I have also led Diabetes Prevention programs at our YMCA.  My commitment is to helping everyone achieve their own optimal health.

 

My undergraduate degrees are in Political Science and German Language and Literature.  I also have a Master’s Degree in International Relations and have completed everything but the dissertation for a PhD in Modern European History.  I put my studies aside to raise two wonderful daughters and to support my husband in his professional pursuits.  While doing this I worked part-time editing until I was able to channel my energy into helping others become fit.  At this time, I am fully committed to helping my students on their journeys to achieve health and I work hard to learn new formats and keep my classes fresh and interesting.
