Samantha Schlee Huff

Hi, I'm Samantha. I'm excited to be your yoga instructor this week. You know when you have the perfect cheesecake recipe or an amazing vacation spot and you want to share it with your favorite people? That's how I feel about yoga. I found this thing I love and I want to share it.

I've been on this yoga journey for more than a decade.  A friend introduced us and I was in love. The way yoga integrates the body, the mind, the spirit, the breath all in one hour-long class...perfection!  You might say it's transformational. 

In 2019, my journey landed me in teacher training. I completed my 200hr YTT with Evolve Yoga in Sioux City, Iowa.  It was a journey of discovery, not just in the logistics of teaching, but also in how to connect to who I truly am as a teacher and student, to find my voice and my style. I discovered that I enjoy the anatomy of yoga, so I attended Yoga Medicine's Intro to Yoga Anatomy Training. Earning my certificate in Oct 2022. I discovered that I enjoy the mindfulness of yoga, so even in challenging, high energy classes, I'll encourage you to notice where your attention is: on the task at hand or looking forward to the next activity on your agenda. 

I taught my first class in August 2019. I began this leg of my journey teaching yin classes. Today, I teach vinyasa at Evolve studio, mindful movement at a local recovery center, and children's yoga in elementary schools. (If you ever want to feel like a rock star, teach yoga to kids.)

Outside of yoga, I enjoy kayaking and hiking with my pup, Frankie. I fully believe that yoga, with its emphasis on strength and mobility, will enable me to continue hiking until I'm 90. At least, that's what I'm working toward. I also enjoy travelling (which is why I'm here, with you) and fantastic food and good coffee.

Visiting one of my classes, you can expect to move thoughtfully through asana. You will be encouraged to notice how each pose feels in your body, in your breath, in your spirit. You can also expect to sweat. I hope you leave class feeling refreshed and nourished and balanced and ready for the day. I am an RYT 200.
