Lisa Cumberpatch

I found my way to yoga almost 30 years ago. After some time away from my mat while raising my girls, I found my way back to yoga after knee replacement surgery in 2014. Looking for a way to feel "normal" again, I tried my first Yin Yoga class. I loved how the practice made me feel better mentally and physically. I felt it also improved my gait and my mental outlook, and credit that as a major factor in my successful recovery from major knee surgery.

My true passion has always been teaching. I received a B.S. degree in Physical Education from University of Maryland in 1981. This laid the foundation for my love of teaching, for my interest in learning more about anatomy, as well as an awareness of the importance of exercising thoughtfully and with care for the human body.
