I was born in Korea and after getting my B.S. in nursing, I spent four years doing volunteer work in Africa before emigrating to the States. I then worked as an OR nurse until my retirement 2021. I began my life as a serious yogi in 2000, and have kept a daily practice since then. After schooling and certification in several alternative modalities from the Urban Zen program run by Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee in 2012, I was able to apply these modalities to my patients at work. I have also attended many Yoga retreats and seminars, especially at the Kripalu Institute which is not far from my home.

Since my retirement from nursing in mid 2021, I have been leading an active, healthy life. Every morning of the week, I take two or three classes at our health club, including yoga, Pilates, Danceology, Barre, weights, and MELT. I am very enthusiastic about eating well and cook all our meals from scratch, including bread and kimchi. We eat mostly organic foods and grow a lot ourselves. I’m in much better shape, stronger and healthier, than I was 20 years ago.

My husband and I enjoy water sports. I love being on a SUP or in a kayak. And of course, yoga on the beach is the best.

I also love music, especially singing. I have sung in choruses and have given solo recitals of arias, lieder, and spirituals.
