Gyan Penrose-Kafka

I am an American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer and Health Coach, as well as a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher (RYT-500 hour).

As a personal trainer, I specialize in whole body HIIT style workouts that help prepare my clients for the vagaries of everyday life. No one lifts a bag of groceries or their children or their luggage the way that you normally see people lifting weights in the gym. So, I help my clients build functional strength, from the core outward. I am also passionate about making exercise fun through what I call “Strenuous Play”® which combines a variety of exercise equipment, calisthenics, team dynamics and challenges to push each person as far as they want to go.   

As a yoga instructor, I specialize in movement and alignment based Vinyasa yoga, focusing on the strength and conditioning aspects, while bringing mindfulness to the practice. Upbeat music helps raise the sweat level though unique flows that will bring you into the present moment and leave you ready to take on the rest of your day's activities.
