Jennifer Miller

I fell in love with dancing at the very young age of 5 and was involved in gymnastics, tap dancing, ballet, and toe dancing. I loved them all! As I got older, my taste in forms of danced changed. Once I began a family, while my love of dance remained, my primary focus was being there for my twin daughters. Once they gained more independent, I sought out ways I could fulfill my love of dance again and found a local Zumba class. I was hooked immediately! I connected to the class and the instructor almost immediately. After about 2 months of classes, and seeing that the instructor had cancellations, one of my friends encouraged me to get my license. I mean who more could I rely on than myself to show up, right? So that's what I did! The world aligned and I ended up reaching out to the same location I took classes at months ago, and with perfect timing, they were looking for someone to hold classes at that location. I have been teaching at our Community Center for the last ten (10) years, and have loved it! The sense of growing not only a community atmosphere, but friendships, has been such a blessing. Even during COVID times I was able to offer online classes to keep everyone "connected." I needed it just as much as they did. I even have some members that have been with me the entire ten (10) years. In addition to teaching my local Community Center, I have been teaching at Crunch Fitness (East York) since it's opening in 2020. At that location I teach Zumba along with some of the core group fitness classes such as Absolution (back and core), Belly, Butt & Thighs, Band Camp and even some of the various HIIT classes. I love the variety of which it offers! I also like to balance out my other fitness habits with weightlifting to work my other muscles since I do a lot of cardio through my teaching, and have even participated in CrossFit classes at a local Box.

I also became licensed in STRONG Nation / STRONG 30 in October 2017 and loved the diversity of it compared to Zumba. It was something that provided me with the strength skills that I was looking for. For me it was a complete 180 from what I was already teaching which was really appealing to me.

In addition to my full-time job as a Project Manager with a global mining company, I teach four times a week at both locations. It provides the perfect balance for me provide a place wherein people can release their daily stress, get a workout, and have fun doing it!
