Vanessa Knause has been instructing dance, artist residencies, workshops, and summer intensives for over fifteen years reaching out to hundreds of people ranging in age from 18 months to pre-professional.
Working with the Bradford County Regional Arts Council, Vanessa has offered creative movement residencies to pre-school children linking the arts to academic curriculum. She was selected to work with an intensive multiple year program, "Learning Communication Skills through the Arts," which provides high quality arts experience to teachers, staff, and children in rural settings. This program was selected by the arts council England as an international model of creative arts practice in early years, was awarded the Pennsylvania Governor's Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service in Art's Education, and the first ever Americans for the Arts in Education Award.
Vanessa has most recently, led the Studio RED dance team to perform at Walt Disney World, Hershey Park, and won various accolades for high performing dances at Regional and National Dance Competitions. She directs satellite dance programs on Vinal Haven and has taken groups of dancers to NYC to take classes at Broadway Dance Center and to Boston to participate in master classes at Urbanity. Her dancers have been accepted into various Summer Intensives as well as receiving various scholarship to attend- including Hollywood Summer Tour, Nutmeg Ballet, Bossov Ballet, Move: theinitiative, Generation IV, NYCDA, and early acceptance to Urbanity SI.
Vanessa has also received the award, "Most Artistic Choreography," at a regional dance competition for her cutting edge contemporary choreography. She has trained dancers who were accepted to the Governor's School of Arts, titled "Miss Dance," at a dance competition, attended Koresh Summer Dance, and accepted into higher learning for dance at West Chester University, NY. Past students have furthered their dance education at the collegiate level and have found jobs on cruise ships, theme parks, and teaching in the classroom. Many of her students have received various scholarship to further their dance education. As owner and director of Studio RED, the school was awarded the ADCC
"Studio of Excellence Award," for their passion and commitment to instructing proper technique and performance quality.
