Ellie has been teaching fitness for 19 years and has specialized in Mat Pilates, Barre, Yoga, Lagree Fitness, and Indoor Cycling. Over the years, she has worked as an instructor, master trainer, and studio co-owner in Portland, OR. She currently lives in Arcata, CA where she teaches barre and Reformer Pilates at Movewell, Vinyasa Yoga at Tosha Yoga, and Mat Pilates at Healthsport.
She has an especially strong background in Lagree Fitness. Lagree is a method that evolved from Reformer Pilates to infuse body building techniques with spring-based tension. Her style of Pilates will ask that you move slower, find alignment in your body, and empower you to increase or decrease the intensity of exercises throughout class. Her ultimate goal is that when you walk out of class, you leave feeling challenged and successful.
Her yoga classes begin slow with restorative postures and build into a perfectly paced flow that matches breath to movement. Her classes weave together yoga philosophy, energetics, all levels postures, and spiritual teachings. She also loves a good playlist, because it brings a sense of joy and levity to her practice. Ellie fully believes how you do anything is how you do everything, and it shows in how she cares for her students and prepares for her classes.
