My physical fitness quest began about 10 years ago before I had my first child. I was overweight my whole life (230 lbs) and decided I'd had enough. With a weight loss program and my local YMCA, I shed 75 pounds and at the urging of one of my instructors, I trained to teach. I recently became a nationally certified instructor and currently teach 8 classes a week. I am also a single mother of 3 boys (ages 12, 10, & 8). I have a Masters degree in Counseling and worked in Student Affairs at a large university as well as at a small liberal arts college before moving to St. Louis, MO. I enjoy adventurous things like climbing rock walls and flying down zip lines. I like gardening, cycling with my family, playing and watching sports. I love to play softball and I play in a co-ed league three seasons out of the year. My favorite teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Above all, I know what its like to get healthy and I work every day at staying healthy. I especially like to make every class fun...it keeps people coming back.
