My journey into yoga started more than 30 years ago with a sivananda yoga class at University. I fell in love after one class. It lead me to ask my former instructor, who studied directly from Swami Vishnu Devananda in the 1960's at the Grass Valley ashram in California, if she could take me under her wing and learn from her. I studied with her for 10 years and then got certified to teach yoga in the Sivananda style. I believe the 5 principles of proper exercise, proper breathing, proper diet, and positive thinking and meditation.
