Julie is a yoga teacher and yoga therapist with over 25 years of experience, inspiring and guiding individuals on their journey to optimal health and mind-body wellness, through yoga, mindfulness, meditation and Reiki. She is creative in her approach to teaching, drawing from many traditions, leading and encouraging her students to explore. Julie's classes are inclusive and accessible to all and a place where community blossoms.
Julie completed yoga teacher training in 2000, at the Center for Yoga in Southfield, Michigan and in 2008, she completed her yoga therapy training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Massachusetts. Julie currently works at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital as a yoga therapist, offering classes for inpatients, outpatients, team member and community. Julie is also a Reiki Master and leads Reiki training for nursing staff at the hospital. In addition, she teaches classes at Henry Ford, Maplegrove Addiction Center, offering yoga classes focusing on mindfulness, meditation and breath work.
In 2020, Julie founded , "Yoga for Wellness with Julie" and continues to teach seven hatha yoga classes per week via Zoom. Since 2004, she has been teaching adaptive yoga classes for "Yoga Moves MS" a non-profit that offering yoga classes for individuals with MS and Parkinson's and other neuromuscular conditions.
Julie earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts and teaching certificate in dance education from the University of Michigan and currently offers private ballroom instruction from her in-home studio.
