I have been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years. It began as a way to “lose the baby weight and get centered” after having my third child. After about one month, I was hooked. It quickly became a daily practice for me. Three years ago, I decided to get certified to teach with a 200 hour certificate at Trailside Yoga Studio, which allowed me to get my RYT-200 certification. I chose this school because of its strong focus on the subtle body. I had always seen yoga as a “workout”, and I want to teach it as so much more.
I began teaching at a yoga studio within a private athletic club. I teach slow flow, hot power flow, hip hop infused yoga and SUP yoga. I am proud to say that yoga classes in my studio began with typically 3-4 students, and have grown to typically completely full. I have a regularly full class of typically 25 for my hot power classes, nearly 50 for my outdoor slow flow classes and a max capacity of 10 for my SUP yoga classes. I feel that this is due to two simple things-1) I love teaching yoga and that love translates to students and 2) I keep my classes light and fun-its just yoga, no need to take ourselves so seriously. I think these 2 aspects make for an excellent class for vacationers as I could teach to all levels, but also show new yogis how much fun it can be.
I also work full time as a pharmaceutical rep, an industry that I have been in for over 20 years. I have four amazing kids ranging 18-10, 2 boys and 2 girls. My 18 year old just recently completed her own yoga teacher training.
