I have been active all my life. I have played soccer, softball and volleyball. In high school I suffered an injury to my hip and was told I could not play my sports any longer. For two years I did not participate in any sports.
With permission of my doctors, I started to work out to get back in to shape. Besides my low impact cardio regime, I started weight training. I loved it!!! I loved it so much that I started studying all I could about weight training and exercise.
While obtaining my bachelor's degree in the sciences, on the side I studied the biomechanics, anatomy, and physiology of sports and exercise. I became friends with several exercise instructors and personal trainers on my campus and spent many hours working out with them and learning from them.
I became so active through all this that I felt comfortable enough to compete in an olympic triathalon...which I completed and felt great afterwards.
When I graduated from college I decided to get my personal training certification. I wanted, what I felt was/is, the most respected certifying organization to certify me. So I studied and passed my ACE personal training certification.
During this time I began working for NYSC and they set up a sixty hour hands-on training session required by all their personal trainers to complete. I worked for them for several months with a total of 17 clients.
As I worked at NYSC I realized that I could be working out on my own. Since they did not allow their trainers to do both, I left NYSC and began my own company called Optimal Fitness.
My company is an in-home personal training service. I go to my clients houses and train them in the comfort of their won home. Since I began this company nearly 3 years ago I have experienced great success. My goal is to train my clients to be competant, capable, and comfoartable exercising with or without my presence.
Now I am looking to expand my experience on a more global level. I love exercising and educating people on exercise. Why not incorporate that into my travels?
