Biographical Sketch – Dr. Jeanette (“Dr J”) Robinson, DrPH, PhD, DMin, MPH, MA, BA

Dr. Jeanette Robinson (affectionately called Dr. J since 1994) is the Founder and Chief Executive Director, CEO of the American Fitness Health & Wellness Institute, a nonprofit organization located in Dayton, OH, since 1986. She strategically defines the overall mission and vision, responsible for personnel, partnerships, collaborations, sponsorships to forecast budget requirements annually for on-going and new projects; based on community health, wellness and preventative medicine needs. Dr. Robinson’s organization provide services using her “Nine Dimensions of Wellness proven research combined with the Transtheoretical Model for Behavioral Change” methodology; which is based on her published Public Health dissertation, presented at the American Public Health Association World Summit, 2007, Washington DC. During COVID, Dr. Robinson has provided cutting edge COVID research funded by the Louisville Institute for faith-based studies. The research entitled, “COVID vs. the Church, and COVID Education for the Ohio Department of Health. Dr. Robinson worked with the US Health Department, “boots on the ground” during the Ebola epidemic providing real time from Liberia daily death rate for aide to the country. Dr. Robinson serves on the Maternal/Infant mortality taskforce for the Ohio Department of Health; and, her organization provides a number of support services programs such as the “Well Moms, Well Babies” and the Fatherhood Programs. In addition, Dr J is a passionate advocate since 1988 for smoking cessation providing wellness workshops and seminars for the United States Air Force and military organizations. She currently leads the effort for Montgomery County Smoking Cessation for the Ohio Department of Health since 2022. These programs provide support services to mothers and fathers from diapers, food, clothing, and shoes, to crisis management including housing, weekly lifestyle training and outpatient recovery programs including smoking cessation. Dr. Robinson’s organization efforts are partially sponsored by the Ohio Commission on Minority Health to focus on the needs of the Black community and other minority populations, the Ohio Department of Health, Ohio Commission on Fatherhood and the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based Initiations. Dr. Robinson won the Governor’s Award for Women’s Excellence in Business, the Blacks in Government Community Service Award and nominated for the American College of Sports Medicine Professional of the Year in 2021. In 2016 she was invited and attended a meeting at the United Nations in NY, NY (2016) on world health issues. With over 37+ years in preventative medicine and wellness, Dr. Robinson has researched, written and assisted in the publication of over 20 fitness training manuals, written and published over 100 Health & Wellness articles and four books, “Being a Happy Healthy Holy Woman™,” “Pleasure Program: Lifestyle & Weight Management Guide for Busy People”, “12 Weapons of Spiritual Warfare”, and “Living a Christ like Lifestyle and a Christian fitness video, “Energize with PraiZercise™. Dr. Robinson is sought after for multi-million and billion dollar Department of Defense business consulting for domestic and international business opportunities, preventative wellness, ministry development, women’s ministries, and wellness research. She provides keynotes, workshops, conferences, focus groups and listening sessions throughout the United States, Bahamas, Canada, Africa, India, and Mexico. Pastoral leaders in the United States and other countries seek training from Dr Robinson to build their ministries, wellness programs and businesses.
