Playing sports through highschool, loved exercise and weight room time, I was regularly getting movement injuries and learning how to recover, it took quite awhile to master my body and understand how to prevent injuries. I considered becoming a personal trainer upon graduating highschool but decided to first go to college for a psychology degree because I was interested in the subject. In highschool I was curious about the connection between psychology and spirituality, particularly upon learning about meditation and consciousness. Still weightlifting and running my first couple years into college, I was also reading on my own, studying and learning about eastern thought and spirituality. I also knew I needed a lot more flexibility for a healthy body that could move better and avoid injury. I finally decided to turn my solo gym time into yoga and fitness class time buying a class pass. I was immediately hooked on yoga. All my interests came together.
I’m also a formerly licensed Emergency medical technician. In 2014 I became 200 hr yoga certified. I’ve trained in a wide variety of yoga approaches, a jack of all but choosing to master basic asana alignment, anatomy informed therapeutic perspectives, and prop supported approaches for alignment or for supported positional release in restorative or yin yoga. I’m currently a licensed massage therapist. Stress, pain, and mobility solutions.
