My name is Courtney Mills and I am a Traumatic Obesity (my own created/coined phrase) survivor. The trauma created by being overweight/obese from age 8 took me until age 34 to process and finally move past. Once I sought help and was able to create a new lifestyle (one that I never thought would be possible for me), I began to work on becoming a trainer to assist others, like me, who had suffered from lifelong obesity.
My highest recorded weight was 320lbs. My lowest recorded weight was 150lbs. I now sit at 180lbs with weight added intentionally throw bodybuilding and bulk/cut phases learned through my own coursework to become the Master Trainer I am today.
My goal is to assist others to not "sit in an unhappy, unable and unhealthy body" for ONE MORE DAY! I strive to be the person I know I needed when I was suffering from obesity for almost my entire life. I live to be the example for my clients that the change is possible and you can live a life outside of obesity.
I seek those who would never seek help as I know how detrimental that way of living life can be. I know what its like to want to change but feel it is a goal which is too far away and unattainable. I know what its like to seek change, get help, try something new, and fail. Then fear to try again.
I want to stop the cycle that is Traumatic Obesity for as many people as I can reach in my lifetime. It makes all my years of being obese/unable worth every second when I can help someone else make that lifestyle change.
Each one, teach one!!!
