I have been captivated by the fitness and sports world from an early age. Growing up in former Yugoslavia and in a family that valued physical activity and encouraged a healthy lifestyle, I developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of exercise and its impact on overall well-being. This ignited a lifelong passion and a strong interest in the fitness and sports industry. That mental approach helped me become a professional volleyball player being 14 years old.

As a child, I actively participated in various sports, from soccer, basketball, handball, and tennis to volleyball, which helped foster a competitive spirit and a sense of discipline. These experiences instilled in me a strong belief in the power of teamwork, perseverance, and personal growth that can be achieved through sports and fitness activities.

A natural inclination towards health and physical education emerged throughout my academic journey. This led to pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science at SUNY of Brockport, where I comprehensively understood human anatomy, exercise physiology, and training principles. This academic foundation provided a solid platform to explore the human body's complexities and the optimal ways to enhance athletic performance.

My enthusiasm for the fitness and sports industry extends beyond personal interest. Recognizing the potential to impact others positively, I pursued certifications as a personal trainer and nutritional adviser, believing that nutrition and exercise go hand in hand. These qualifications allowed me to work closely with individuals, tailoring exercise programs and providing nutritional guidance to help them achieve their health and fitness goals. Through these interactions, I witnessed firsthand the transformative effect that physical activity and proper nutrition can have on individuals' lives, not just in terms of physical fitness but also in boosting confidence, improving mental well-being, and fostering overall personal growth with any age.

Driven to make a broader impact, I expanded my professional horizons by engaging in public speaking (camps, workshops, etc.). By sharing knowledge and experiences, I aim to inspire others to adopt healthier lifestyles, embrace the benefits of physical activity, and overcome obstacles to achieve their full potential.

My dedication to the fitness and sports industry goes beyond individual accomplishments. Recognizing the importance of community engagement, I actively participate in local sports clubs, charity events, and fitness initiatives. By promoting inclusivity, diversity, and the joy of movement, I strive to create an environment where everyone can experience the numerous benefits of an active lifestyle.

As I continue to evolve and grow within the fitness and sports industry, my passion for empowering others and making a meaningful impact remains unwavering. Whether through personalized coaching, motivational speaking, or advocating for physical well-being, I aspire to contribute to a healthier and happier society, one person at a time.

With an unwavering commitment to ongoing education, professional development, and staying abreast of the latest trends and research, I am poised to play a significant role in the future of the fitness and sports industry, inspiring individuals to unlock their full potential and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Mido developed and delivered all the fitness programs at Rochester School of Fitness. He earned his BS in Sport Management and Physical Education from SUNY College at Brockport in 2003. Before opening Rochester School of Fitness, Mido spent six years as a fitness trainer at Oak Hill Country Club, where he developed a devoted following. Anyone who has worked with Mido will tell you that his approach is fun and inspiring.

Since I came to the USA (1995), I have been helped as a refugee and have always wanted to return that help and help others. The Fitness Initiative is the dream I developed to help a financially challenged society in Rochester, NY. Every human should work on their health and try to be better than yesterday regardless of social status. In 2006 I launched the Rochester School of Fitness, a fitness facility that provides various services for helping children and adults of all ages and abilities achieve an enhanced level of fitness and health. I am building on that success and, by opening The Fitness Initiative, can now extend those services to those unable to afford or access health and fitness services independently.
