My fitness journey began in my 30's. I have always struggled with my weight and being a couch potato in my younger years did not help. In my 30 I did a few professionally guided white water rafting trips (PS. I'm afraid of the water) and these trips showed me how my strength is important. I started working with a trainer and I have been ever since. During my last white water rafting trip, I saw some kayaker around us and I said out loud OHHH I WANT TO DO THAT. Our guide heard me and talked to me about the trips that you can book, I got home the next day and booked a kayak trip 4 weeks later (did I mention I'm afraid of the water, crazy eh). So my trainer got me ready and I did 2 more trips after that one.
Zumba came into my life through an employee of ours that told me about this awesome class she attended, I followed along as I love to dance. Well I was hooked. The instructor spoke of a Zumba training coming to the gym and I booked my spot. I love teaching Zumba and I have been told by my student that I glow with happiness when I teach. I instruct a low impact class with enthusiasm and I encouraged high option to my class if they wish to do so. I have always tailored my class this way as often a person who jumps naturally will do so easily but someone who may have mobility issues will be intimidated or un aware of the low impact options.
My work background is in hardware and I teach Zumba with no background in dance. I love Zumba.
