I became interested in health and fitness at the age of 15 yrs old as a result of the loss of family members due to chronic disease. While I started on a premed path, I changed to Kinesiology. In my transition, I began working with individuals with diabetes, heart conditions, mobility dysfunctions, military veterans, and those hoping to join the military. I have never been a small or muscular person but have always been able to maintain an active lifestyle through 'being of service to others by teaching fitness classes. I believe in "meeting you where you are" and applying a "learn, train, maintain, and change" vision as we learn and change together. My training & life philosophy comes from Bart Connor, '84 Gold Medalist. To succeed, you must find your F.O.C.U.S: F-Find your talents; O-Observe your mentors; C-Challenge yourself (set goals); U-Utilize your resources; and S-Strive to make a difference.
