Kristaps Petrovs

Kristaps Petrovs is experienced strength & conditioning coach, fitness coach, sports science consultant, coach educator and public speaker that helps youth, amateur and pro athletes develop and improve their physical qualities and movement skills in their chosen sport or activity. Kristaps enjoys sharing knowledge and is delivering practical and theory educational seminars for Special Olympics Alberta coaches, Coach 2&3 level tennis professionals across Canada, where he’s sharing knowledge and experiences on principles of resistance training and movement skill development.

Currently, Kristaps is leading the Sports Science Department at the Granite club and recently Tennis Canada Junior Fitness Program where he plans and delivers fitness sessions for junior players, as well as monitors athletes maturation – growth spurt, daily wellbeing, training load and develops physical qualities.

After graduating with Masters Degree in Sports Science – Strength & Conditioning from Cardiff Metropolitan University (Wales, UK) Kristaps lead Welsh Senior Men’s National Basketball team to European Championships and afterwards served as Head of Sports Science - Strength and Conditioning with U18 Latvian National Basketball Team in European Championships. Kristaps believes in consistent improvement rather perfection, therefore enjoys exploring sports science field and the art of coaching. Additionally, he aspires to pass on his experience and knowledge and teach sports science at University setting or other settings in the future! He encourages anyone to find something he/she enjoys so you can stay active throughout your life, because it’s not a sprint but a marathon! In addition, Kristaps wants to give back to local community and makes his priority to volunteer with kids in every country he resides including Latvia, Canada, Wales (UK) and recently Cayman Islands.
