Jennah Strand

My mission is to empower others to use wellness in movement, mindset and motivation. I have been working in Cardiac Rehab for over a decade & feel compelled to share the knowledge I have learned in a way that encourages and educates others to be the healthiest version of themselves.

My focus has always been secondary prevention (preventing future progression of heart disease). My experience with helping patients recover after a heart attack fuels my passion to help others improve their life, whether that be preventing chronic conditions such as heart disease or creating positive change while living with chronic conditions. Through The Heartbeat, my hope is to serve others with tools & tangible tips, pop-up yoga classes, one-on-one health coaching, and workshops. My desire is to not only work in secondary prevention, but also primary prevention finding a balance between the conventional medicine I’m trained in and my love for the natural & holistic side. (i.e. signs of a heart attack-seek immediate medical attention vs. signs of a panic attack-teach breathing techniques).

I previously worked as a Senior Clinical Exercise Physiologist in Cardiac Rehabilitation. In this role, I case managed patients within Cardiac Rehab overseeing their progress, motivating them to reach their goals, and supervising their exercise sessions. I have experience in quality improvement and program development within the department. In my role as a Senior CEP, I trained new employees, acted as a mentor to fellow teammates, and oversaw interns in addition to my clinical roles. I became the lead in our department through a virtual launch of Cardiac Rehab when the pandemic forced us to close our doors for outpatient services in the hospital. We partnered with Movn Rehab to provide virtual Cardiac Rehab, education, and support to our patients in the comfort of their home. Over a decade of experience in Cardiac Rehab inspired and prepared me to leave healthcare to reach a larger community seeking wellness.

In March of 2022, I began the journey to the 200 Registered Yoga Teacher Training through YogaFit. I have since completed and have been teaching yoga in many different settings from young children all the way up to golden agers, chair yoga classes. I love theming my classes and my favorite place to teach is outdoors.
