Jason spent time in the corporate world in Information Technology and Finance before becoming a fitness instructor, actor and a firefighter. His experience of bringing a wide variety of fitness programming to groups led him to open his own boutique studio, Local Motion Fitness (now Dancing Fire Fitness). There he designed a successful weight-loss program called Platinum Transformation, which saw many women lose considerable weight, keep it off, and enjoy a healthy movement lifestyle they never thought possible again. His understanding of research papers and statistics allows him to cut through the misinformation and avoid being distracted by ineffective fads.
Through his two decades of firefighting experience, he knows how to train to meet the demands that firefighting places on his own body and those of fellow firefighters. Not satisfied to simply meet the physical requirements of firefighting, he pushes himself further by competing in the elite FireFit competitions, which challenge a firefighter through a grueling obstacle course race in full bunker gear, breathing supplied air in a mask that many active-duty firefighters cannot even finish. He not only runs it well, but is also an accomplished gold medalist in the masters categories. He knows what it takes to continuously build strength and endurance to improve his abilities even as he continues to age. He uses current nutritional research to keep his body strong and his mind sharp while maintaining body fat below 10% in his fifties.
