Simply Power Yoga conducted the 200-hour training, covering topics including tools to lead, sequence and create 45, 60, and 75 minute classes. We covered yoga philosophies, anatomy and alignment principles, pranayama training, yin and restorative training, and hands on teaching with physical assists.
Karma Kids Yoga Certification: 2012
The Karma Kids Yoga approach for teaching yoga to children incorporates the use of animated poses, props, music, art, games, storytelling and the imagination, to help stimulate their senses as well as stretch and strengthen their developing bodies. This approach uses creative techniques to keep children of all ages engaged in their yoga practice. We learned over 500 yoga poses, partner poses, group poses, yoga games and mindfulness activities, breathing exercises, relaxation and visualization techniques, and more for sharing yoga with toddlers through teenagers.

MINDFULNESS (MINDFUL MOVEMENT)
The Power of Awareness: 2018
Studied with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach for this course to learn mindfulness skills and tools, develop a regular meditation practice, and receive community. Worked on developing lovingkindness, strengthening self-compassion and overcome self-judgment, and cultivating vulnerability.
Shambhala Level 1: The Art of Being Human: 2017
Through the practice of meditation, we glimpse unconditional goodness as the ground of our existence. Opening to ourselves with gentleness and appreciation, we begin to see our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings.
Mindful-Way February 2016 Mindfulness Silent Meditation Retreat: 2016
I completed week-long mindfulness retreat, meditating from 6am to 9pm each day with Beth Mulligan and Jon Aaron. This was co-hosted by the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Thich Nhat Hanh Mindfulness Retreat for Educators: 2013
In Toronto, we listened to talks daily by Thay, practiced meditation, and learned how to first practice mindfulness before working to bring mindfulness to others.
Mindfulness and Education Conference: 2012
The Omega Institute, in Rhinebeck, NY, brought together influential leaders in the fields of mindfulness and Social and Emotional Learning, including psychologists, educators, administrators, and teachers. Extensive research has shown that mindfulness practices and SEL decrease stress, attention deficit issues, depression, anxiety, and hostility in children, while benefitting health, well-being, and social relationships.
Mindfulness Based Stress Practice Teaching Intensive: 2011
I completed the MBSR Teacher Training with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli. This program was an applied exploration of MBSR Fundamentals curriculum over 8 consecutive days, immersion in MBSR methodology and direct experience through simulated teaching.
