I have lived in West Des Moines, IA for the last 20 years after growing up in Minneapolis, MN, attending the University of WI-Madison, moving to Houston, TX and Cincinnatti, OH before landing here. I am the mother of 3 grown children and a golden doodle named Torrey that we all love so much! I have been a competitive endurance athlete since my early 20's participating in all distances of running, triathlon and cycling races. These last few years I have really enjoyed racing my bike on gravel roads...it's always a fun challenge. I was introduced to Pilates in 1998 when my husband hurt his back and his physical therapist had him work on a Pilates Reformer. I thought it was a good compliment to support my other activities and I have been hooked ever since. I was purely a student of it for 10 years before I started my training to become an instructor in 2008. I had been teaching some kind of fitness classes/personal training since I was 21 years old so it was a natural progression. I truly believe my pilates practice has allowed me to continue to participate in my hobbies at a high level all these years as well as just keep me mobile in general. I get a lot of satisfaction sharing what I do with people coming from all walks of life. I taught everything everywhere in Des Moines, including Pilates, as my full time job and finally in 2018 opened my own Studio, The Pilates Station. It has been rewarding and I have developed a wonderful community of teachers and clients that I call my "Pilates Children". I feel blessed and honored to work with all these people, as well as the fact I get to wear leggings and bare feet for work and my dog is everyone's favorite support animal. When I am not working, "momming" or training I love to go see live music of all genres, cook for my loved ones, spend time outdoors or tuck in with a good book. I love to travel and am look forward to any adventure that may come my way.
