Dr. Ellina Seckel (she/her) is the Associate Chief of Pharmacy, Ambulatory and Specialty Care at the Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2016, Ellina was recognized as a national VA Under Secretary of Health Gold Status Fellow for collaborative work showing the impact of using pharmacists to open access to primary care. In 2018-2019, Ellina spent 8 months serving as the Acting Chief of Primary Care at the Madison VA providing supervisory support to physicians and leading interdisciplinary teams. More recently, Ellina was nominated by her teammates and awarded the 2020 National VA Under Secretary for Health Excellence in Pharmacist Leadership Award. In addition to VA work, Ellina is highly involved in the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW). She is a PSW Past President and is currently serving as a member of the Foundation Board as well as Co-Chair for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team. Outside of pharmacy, Ellina formed and led a collaborative community initiative called "Give the Gift of Mobility" to purchase bus passes for those currently unhoused.
Ellina blends her years of leadership, weight lifting, and cardio fitness experience with her latin partner dance passion to cultivate fun and challenging Zumba classes! Ellina's unique ability to connect with individuals on a deeper level, commitment to personal growth, leadership skills, and enthusiasm for music, dance, fitness, laughter, and joy make her Zumba class experiences like none you've ever felt before.
