My name is Arezou. I am a passionate yoga practitioner who loves to share the art of yoga with others. I was first introduced to yoga in 2004 when I moved from my home country, Iran, to Montreal, Canada to complete my Ph.D. in electrical engineering. A classmate, who is a yoga lover, encouraged me to attend yoga classes with her. After a few sessions, I felt a unique sense of calmness, presence, and the mind-body connection that I could only experience while doing yoga.
In 2017, I decided to become a certified yoga teacher to be able to deepen my personal practice and share the joy and benefits of yoga with others. Immediately after I got my certification, I started teaching yoga in our neighborhood parks for free as a giving back to community activity. Since 2018, I have taught yoga classes in a large corporation for employees as well as live yoga classes online.
I am multilingual. Farsi is my native language, but I speak English fluently. I also understand and speak basic French and some Arabic. I have practiced and learned from many different yoga instructors from studios in Montreal, Canada; Washington DC; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Austin Texas where I currently reside. Over the past 6 years, I have taught Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Power Yoga classes as an accredited yoga teacher. I am also an electrical engineer in research and development for a major medical imaging device company.
Teaching yoga not only helps me to have a healthier and balance lifestyle, but also connects me with like-minded people who enjoy mindfulness activities. I enjoy being able empowering people to build a stronger, healthier, and more mindful lives.
