Hi there, my name is Kristin Lockwood. I'm from the states-I grew up in Wisconsin and then lived in Arizona for over 10 years before moving down to Costa Rica about 4 years ago. I found yoga about 17 years ago as a way just simply to feel more comfortable in my body. I had found out not too ling before that through 2 broken ankles that my hips are rotated in the socket, causing me to have slightly misaligned legs. So when I started yoga, it was never about being 'good' or thinking I ever would be. But it was exactly what I needed. My own personal practice evolved through different types of yoga with my life. I started committed to a bikram practice for many years, and then a bit of sumits when i moved to arizona. Then into my great love affair with vinyasa flow, then into ashtanga. By that time, I had to surrender to my great love with yoga and deep quest for knowledge and start yoga teacher trainings. It was in my first ashtanga yoga teacher training that I discovered the power of yin yoga. That journey led me even deeper and more in love with the incredible , understanding, philosophy, anatomy, history, language, every aspect of this healing practice that is yoga.
