Diana Hernandez

Hi! My name is Diana from New Jersey! I am a first generation Hispanic American, half Puerto Rican and half Dominican, born and raised in New Jersey. A fun fact about me is that my first language was Spanish. I am a Lawyer, working in biotechnology industry. I am also an adjunct professor where I teach First Year Writing and Literature. Teaching is where my true passion lies.

I discovered yoga and meditation in my early 20s during a pivotal chapter of my life. As a law student navigating the weight of anxiety and stress, and later as a practicing attorney in New Jersey, I turned to yoga for balance and support. What began as a tool to meet the demands of my career soon blossomed into something far deeper. Yoga became a gentle invitation to reconnect with myself, a sanctuary where I learned to honor and cherish my body after years of struggling with self-acceptance through cycles of weight gain and loss. My mat became my sacred runway, a place to return home, rediscover my strength, and celebrate all the ways my body carries me through life.

Years later, my love for yoga inspired me to become a 200-hour RYT, and now now share this passion by teaching classes of all sizes. My classes are heartfelt spaces where movement meets mindfulness, designed to help others nurture the connection between body, mind, and soul. As a Reiki Master Practitioner and Embodiment Coach, my mission is rooted in creating a safe and welcoming space where students feel empowered to explore, heal, and come home to themselves. She believes that yoga is a journey of self-discovery, where every breath and movement is an act of love and choice. My mantra, “Your practice, your body, your choice, always,” is at the heart of everything I offer.

The practices of yoga I especially enjoy to teach include: Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha, Slow Flow, Power Flow, Yoga Nidra, and Gentle. I also incorporate various kinds of breathwork and mediation techniques into my yoga practice. I love to add sound baths during savasana at the end of a bridal yoga class or a beach yoga class!

My other passion is traveling. I love to experience other cultures, learning different languages, and especially enjoy eating different kinds of food! I have traveled to many places including but not limited to, including France, England, Spain, Greece, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Mexico, Italy, Canada, and several states in the United States. I recently went on a 15 day solo trip to Thailand and it was the most magical experience!
