- Jeff Teach
Co-owner/Personal Trainer/Cycling Instructor
Jeff Teach graduated from the University of Illinois in 1995 with a degree in Speech Communications. Jeff was a member of the University of Illinois Track and Field team for five years. While at University of Illinois, Jeff earned four Big Ten Championship titles as a shot putter, and was also a two time All American in Track and Field. Jeff also competed in Olympic Weightlifting while in college.
After college he spent a year at the Olympic Training Center, training for the 1996 Olympics. While at the Training Center, Jeff unfortunately sustained a shoulder injury. After a strong come back, Jeff made it to the trials, but the shoulder injury proved to be stronger than his will and he didn’t make the team.
Jeff has been in the personal training field since 1996. He started his career at George Mason University as a strength and conditioning coach. After a year of training their athletes, he pursued other interests in the personal training field. He currently holds two certifications; one from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and the other from USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Weightlifting Coach. Jeff also maintains a certification in CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross. Since his weightlifting days, Jeff’s interests have changed from the strength sports to the endurance sports.
He currently competes in cycling as a Category 3 road racer, and NORBA Sport Level/Clydesdale Mountain Bike Racer. The weightlifting background is still ingrained in him, and you can find him lifting weights when he is not out on his bike.
