My name is Isabelle (Izzy) Johnson, and I was fortunate to have been raised in beautiful Northern Wisconsin. Growing up nestled among the dense forests, striking rivers and lakes, and alongside the abundance of wildlife in my hometown has helped cultivate a deep appreciation for mother nature and all of her gifts. The small community I am a part of now, as an adult, prioritizes education and connection with the outdoors and has taught me the value of fellowship not only with one another, but also with the natural world.
I have been even more fortunate in my 25 years of life, because of incredible opportunities to leave my small hometown and travel a great deal. In high school I was an exchange student for a year in Chile, South America. I completed my high school education at a boarding school in the state of Indiana, which focused greatly on leadership and athletics. Directly after I had an opportunity to live in Senegal, West Africa where I continued to develop foreign language skills and deep connections with the people along my journey. I then enrolled in UW-Madison, and later transferred to McGill University in Montreal, QB. My studies in International Agriculture then took me to Ohio, where I was able to work in and eventually manage a large aquaponic greenhouse.
Along the way, my life has always emphasized movement, and the well-being of the mind and body. I have never stepped foot on a plane or train without my yoga mat and running shoes in tow.
