I am a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 teacher, having trained at the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City with living master, Sri Dharma Mittra and receiving my certification in 2018. I have another approximately 100 hours of advanced certification in trauma-informed teaching methods, Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies, and for teaching youth and children. I am currently facilitating 4 classes per week for incarcerated youth and women in Calgary, Canada, as a certified facilitator with Prison Yoga Project, based in Bolinas, CA. I have previously taught community and studio classes to the general public, private classes, mindfulness and gentle yoga for Healthcare workers, as well as classes for vulnerable and high risk children through Kidsafe Project.
Prior to certification I practiced yoga for 25 years, including training with a private instructor for two years. My approach is to meet participants where they are at, and ensure I have a broad toolbox of techniques and inclusive sequences to ensure I can facilitate people of all ages, and everyone from a complete newbie to advanced participants. I believe yoga should be fun and accessible, with options for a more challenging practice!
