Laura Mata

I started my fitness journey at a young age. I was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. As a child, I participated in various sports like soccer, swimming, and rhythmic gymnastics, developing a passion for movement and physical activity. In my teenage years, I became more focused on strength training and conditioning which prompted me to start getting professionally educated to improve not only my own performance and health but to inspire and help others.

 After college, I moved to Kibbutz Evron, in Israel where I experimented with different training methodologies and started practicing dance and music-driven exercise programs. After I moved to the United States, I got certified in Group Fitness and Personal Training. I continued to prioritize regular exercise, incorporating a mix of weightlifting, cardiovascular workouts, and flexibility training into my certifications. I am certified in different formats by Zumba, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Strong Nation. I am also certified in Sun Yoga, Cardio Kickboxing, Pound, BollyX, and PiYo. I am currently teaching Pilates, Yoga (Vinyasa and Yin), Cardio Kickboxing, Zumba, Waterworks, Watercardio, and Exercise for Arthritis. I have been teaching for the Del E Webb Wellness Center / Kingman Regional Medical Center since 2004.

Over the years, I have had various clients and participants with different challenges and setbacks, including injuries and plateaus, but I've always remained committed to them. I've learned to listen to them, adjust their training accordingly, and inspire them to stay patient and persistent in pursuit of progress.

Today, I understand fitness as an integral part of life, providing not only physical benefits but also mental and emotional well-being. Whether it's hitting the gym for a strength session, going to an enthusiastic Zumba class, or practicing yoga for relaxation, I'm grateful for the positive impact that I have had the privilege to have in people’s lives.
