Cara Armstrong

I became a yoga instructor because my own personal yoga journey has transformed my life and the way I view mind, body and soul connection. When I was younger, I never thought of myself as someone who put much effort into health and wellness, however during that time I also was very unhappy. I tried other types of exercise from time to time but nothing stuck and along with that I was eating unhealthy. Once I got to a point that I realized it was time for a change, I began hiking and eating better which allowed me to feel how strong my body is and wonderful I can feel in my own skin. I have had high anxiety the majority of my life but I always had been drawn to yoga, I was just to anxious to try it. Finally when I was living in San Diego, I stepped foot into my first yoga studio. It was a beautiful and welcoming experience and when I closed down my eyes in svasana, I could feel tears in my eyes. I had never felt more proud up until that point in my life. So, with all of that being said I want to be able to be part of others' journeys within the yoga world. My students will mostly certainly have their own unique experience, however I know that any journey will be transformational in some way. To be any part, small or big of someone's experience means that absolute world to me. It is a community I will be forever grateful for.

I now live in Portland, Oregon, a beautifully lush city with a weird and friendly collection of awesome humans. Although it can be rainy often, I've found the rain is inspiring as its what creates all of the greenery throughout an urban jungle. I did my yoga teacher training here and have been able to create an amazing community through the studio I teach out. I am looking to branch out and meet people throughout the globe who also love the practice of yoga and the community it builds.
