Ashley Welling

Hi! My name is Ashley Welling. I work as a Quality Engineer during the day but my true passion is teaching fitness classes. I am a former professional cheerleader for the Columbus Crew and Lake Erie Monsters. I have also trained with the Radio City Rockettes.

When I retired from professional dance, I made the transition into fitness because I wanted to keep my body moving and loved dancing. I became certified in Zumba in 2013 and started teaching at the studio where I was taking fitness classes. In 2014, a local studio hired me to teach Zumba and also gave me opportunities to become certified in various other forms of fitness, including Balletone and Tabata Bootcamp. I was also introduced to Barre during this time, which I loved because it allowed me tap back into my dance background.

In 2017, I moved to Bowling Green, OH and started teaching Tabata Bootcamp at a local gym. From there I became certified to teach Barre and BIIT (Barre Intensity Interval Training).

In 2019, I had a baby and really saw how important fitness is for the body, as well as finding a balance with cardio, weights and stretching. I was looking for a balance, so in 2022, I started to teaching Barre at Bowling Green State University. 1 year later, we did a shift with the class, adding my dance background, and went to Pilates. This class has taken off and I'm so thankful for everyone that comes, men and women.

I'm always ready for a challenge and my boss at BGSU mentioned Les Mills BodyPump. I heard about this workout but never tried it. I signed up for the certification, hardest one I have done, and am now certified to teach BodyPump and love it!
