Sirena St.Ours

I began my journey in a way many of us might resonate with. I was working a traditional corporate job & after 10 years behind a desk, I began to question what my definition of “living” truly was. After experiencing severe burnout, I took leave from the office and returned to my yoga mat. It was on the mat I began my journey home… Each class attended brought more stillness & through more stillness came more contemplation & through those moments of quiet contemplation I heard my calling. To heal- myself & others.

After three months away on leave, I knew it was time to change directions. And change, I did. I gave up the demands of corporate America in exchange for the recovery of my mental health. I worked part time at the yoga studio where I practiced & surrounded myself with a community with whom I felt loved, accepted, & safe. I was welcomed home.

A part of my journey was to heal my mental health alongside being an advocate for others living with mental health illnesses/disorders.  I strongly believe that diagnoses & acronyms do not define individuals nor do the stereotypes associated with them, however, it can give us a deeper understanding of who we are & how to better care for ourselves. During my worst days to my best days, one thing remained steadfast; yoga. My practice became daily, which turned into a curiosity about its’ roots, which finally led me to becoming a teacher…

I am a RYT-200 with a specialty in teaching trauma-informed yoga. I am also a certified Reiki II practitioner from the Usui/Tibetan lineage. I possess deep compassion & love for all beings and this care is demonstrated in my teaching style and individual work with others. I have a wealth of knowledge that pertains to the inner workings of the central nervous system & how yoga and nature can assist in its’ regulation. I have earned my B.S in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, and I am a life long student of the teachings within the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, & the Upanishads.
