Danielle is a lifetime tennis player and pickleball enthusiast (USPTA and PPR Pro certified) with a passion for teaching and a focus on having fun while helping to take one’s game a step further. She spent the first 10 years of her life overseas in Africa, India and the Middle East. It was there that she started to develop her love for all racquet sports. Once she returned to the US in 1990, Danielle went on to compete at the USTA National Junior level and was then recruited to play D1 Women’s tennis at Virginia Tech from 1998-2002.
She has resided in Washington DC since 2005 and worked as the Director of Recruiting at a government contractor for many years. After the birth of her two daughters in 2018, she decided to leave the corporate workforce and start doing what she really loves. Teaching tennis and pickleball! Since 2021, Danielle has headed up the adult tennis programming for a community non-profit called Lafayette Tennis Association (www.lafayettetennis.org) in DC offering numerous weekly adult group classes/clinics and cardio tennis to all levels. Her teaching experience also includes several clients for private/semi-private lessons and coaching middle school varsity futures teams.
Danielle is a certified pickleball professional (PPR). She first picked up a paddle in 2022 and has been hooked ever since! She’s had success competing in various OPEN division tournaments clenching a handful of medals along the way. In addition to tennis, Danielle started her pickleball teaching journey in 2023 which has been very rewarding. She has her sights set high for all the students she comes across, regardless of their age and skill level. As with tennis, Danielle focuses on making sure her students are engaging in the proper techniques and drills to take their level of play to the next level. She looks forward to continuing to share her knowledge and love of pickleball with so many others whether here in the DC area or elsewhere. As with all her teaching, Danielle’s goal is for self improvement and having fun!
