Kiara Smothers

Namaste!

My name is Kiara (key-air-rah) Smothers and I was born and raised in Longview, TX. I have become the first Black yogi born and raised in East Texas, as well as the first Black American to own my own yoga business in East Texas! I have made history! My business is trauma based, called TRAP Yoga. TRAP is a period less acronym for trauma, release and peace.

Before I decided to become a yoga instructor and plan out my business, I have been working in education for 14 years, whether it's in child care, non-profits, teacher of record and currently serving as a Success Coach for a virtual Texas school.

I am married with two children and a pet mom!

My goal is to leave the 'corporate educator world' and go full time with my business, doing retreats and service the community that may never walk inside of a yoga studio. I chose to keep my business mobile and not open a studio.
