Hi! My name is Julia Fincher. I am a super busy gal who is a mother,a bill payer, a gym goer, a good girlfriend, a yoga teacher and student; and hopefully a good example.
I live with my teenage daughter (karma is real) in the Atlanta area.
My yoga journey began with Tony Horton in 2007 with P90X. Initially, it was a great workout to counter balance the high intensity spin, kickboxing, and boot camps I was addicted to. Several surgeries (and many hours of therapy)made me rethink this approach of yoga-as-a-stretching-activity/ Sunday morning detox…
The most impactful part of my yoga practice has been the changes internally. While being flexible is a wonderful side effect of a great yoga practice, the true benefits are around mental flexibility- less stress and the ability to be present and in the moment.
I have been practicing yoga for almost twenty years; my current practice includes multiple styles and is it’s own workout! I try to practice everyday, and I take an organized class most days of the week. My gateway to yoga was vinyasa flow and that remains my favorite practice. Universal yoga offers me mental peace I can’t find anywhere else. I’ve even gained an appreciation for yin!
When I am not practicing yoga, I am at my day job selling things, or driving my mom taxi, or trying to make a dollar out of fifteen cents…
