Tricia Rohloff

Hi, I’m Tricia—an optimistic, adventurous, and dedicated educator with a practical, enthusiastic, and organized approach to both life and work. My entire professional career has been rooted in education. I spent 13 years as an elementary classroom teacher and now serve in teacher education at the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Alongside my passion for education, I’ve always enjoyed staying active. While working out at the fitness center in my small rural community, I was introduced to yoga. From the beginning, I experienced its transformative benefits—greater strength, mindfulness, and relief from chronic neck and back pain.

After a few years of practicing, my yoga instructor encouraged me to begin teaching. Although hesitant at first, I embraced the opportunity. She trained me, and in 2006, I began teaching two classes per week at the local fitness center. I’ve continued to grow in my practice and have consistently taught 1–2 classes per week ever since.

In 2015, I completed YogaFit’s Teacher Training Level 1: Foundations, where I learned essential concepts such as proper alignment, transformational language, the three-mountain class format, foundational poses, and breathing techniques. As part of my certification, I volunteered 8 hours teaching yoga to a Division III baseball team at my local university.

In March 2020, my world shifted when my father passed away from pancreatic cancer—just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. Amid grief, remote learning, and global uncertainty, I turned to yoga as a daily grounding practice. It became a source of healing and strength, helping me navigate a time of deep personal and collective upheaval.

Unable to honor my father with a traditional funeral, I searched for a meaningful tribute. Through reflection and prayer, I decided to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Yoga Renew. I became a Yoga Alliance-registered instructor and launched InPlace Yoga & Wellness in 2024—a space dedicated to bringing yoga to people wherever they are, through pop-up community classes, private groups, and workplace sessions. I am certified to teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, and Children’s Yoga.

Today, I continue to teach weekly at my local fitness center and have begun expanding InPlace Yoga & Wellness. I’m also thrilled to begin traveling and teaching as a guest yoga instructor through Fit Bodies. Sharing yoga continues to be a joyful and grounding part of my life—and I’m grateful for every opportunity to help others find balance, strength, and presence on the mat.
