I am a full time civil engineer by trade. I obtained my bachelor's in civil engineering from the university of Arkansas in 2013. I have always been involved in sports growing up and naturally clinged to group fitness classes once I got to college and as an adult. I played volleyball all during junior high, high school, and college. Once I graduated college and got a desk job, I gained a decent amount of weight. In 2020, I began my weight loss journey and lost 65 pounds. It was all due to learning a lot about nutrition, and attending 2 group fitness classes a day, 6 days a week at the Jones Center. Once one of my cycle instructors decided to move to Minnesota, and when I asked who the replacement instructor would be, the whole class simultaneously turned to me and said that I needed to become the replacement instructor! After discussing with my husband, it was a no brainer, I was already going to work out 6 days a week, mise well make money from it, and all of our money goes towards our church's special missions offering every year. So I don't literally keep any money from teaching, it goes to a much greater cause :) I have loved every minute of it and have since gained 5 other certifications. I actively teach between 6-8 classes a week on average, sometimes up to 15 classes a week if instructors are needing subs.
