** Anthony Rene Otero (RYT500, MYT1) ** is a first-generation Latinx/XicanX from Amarillo, Texas. His journey into somatics began with dance (ballet, jazz, tap) from ages 5 to 15. Returning to dance as an adult, he attended Austin Community College (ACC) at 24, later transferring to Texas Woman’s University (TWU) to study dance, women and gender studies, and sociology.

In 2020, Anthony earned his 200hr yoga teacher certification from Bloom Yoga in Denton, TX, under Dr. AnaLouise Keating and Dr. Audrey Lundahl The certification emphasized using yoga as a social justice tool, focusing on vinyasa and yin yoga. Anthony started teaching yoga in 2021.

By 2023, Anthony had completed an additional 300 hours of training from Science of Self (SOS) Yoga in Woodstock, NY, under Dr. Erin Rose Vaugh and Mel Durga. This training concentrated on Meridian and Yin Yoga, Meridian Yoga Therapy (MYT), and Advanced Yoga Training, integrating techniques from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Yoga.

Currently, Anthony practices and trains under Brian Keith, Jared McCann, Laine Edwards and Yassi Maige, focusing on 84 Asana, Ashtanga, SOS Yoga, and The Original Hot 26&2. He is passionate about teaching yoga to help individuals release physical and emotional pain, fostering self-healing and self-realization. Anthony believes that yoga is a transformative tool that should be accessible to everyone.
