Jennifer Guthrie

I have enjoyed connecting with people and challenging myself from an early age. Moving around a lot growing up helped me to feel comfortable talking to new people and I’ve nourished that skill in meeting and engaging clients, friends and co-workers. I started in grade school in TX playing competitive sports, striving in academics and serving in the community where I could.

After my formative years I received a scholarship to play Division I tennis at Elon University. From there I wanted to make it big in the big Apple. I pursued marketing and worked at an Ad Agency in NYC, met my husband and after a few years and some great life experience we moved back south.

I continued working in advertising for a few more years and discovered yoga to manage the stress of my job while living in Nashville. Yoga helped me realize I felt misaligned in my career and also gave me the courage to give up my current career path and start a new one.

We moved to Coastal Alabama and I started the area’s first yoga studio. The studio celebrated it’s 11 year anniversary this year!

Building a community and belong to a community has fueled me, so much that I have expanded my passion of service beyond the studio into the city’s political world. I currently serve on our town’s planning commission and am running for City Council in 2025. I serve on the junior board of our local chapter of the Child Advocacy Center serving 450 kids of child abuse in our area annually. I am also a member of our school’s Health & Wellness Committee. One of my main goals is to create connection among our town’s brightest and bravest people to support our community in being the happiest and healthiest they can be.
