Caleigh Hunter

Caleigh (she,her) is a mover, dancer, choreographer, adjudicator, instructor, trainer, yoga teacher, and movement educator. Caleigh currently resides mainly in Victoria BC Canada where she creates, moves, and teaches. As well as teaching and performing, Caleigh is always seeking ways to involve community in movement, and is currently a lululemon ambassador under "train" for the city of Victoria.

Caleigh has always been obsessed with movement and began dancing at the age of 6. She has taught in various cities, schools, studios, and competitions. She has always been a part of many music videos, photography shoots, live concerts, and shows. Caleigh is company dancer for the Rhythmical Contemporary Company "Broken Rhythms" (2015-present). 

In 2007 Caleigh became one of the youngest fitness leaders in the lower Vancouver Island region and taught aerobics, trx, spin, weights, functional movement, bootcamps, and barre in both public and private sector recreation. In 2009 Caleigh began practicing yoga as a way to move in a space with no mirrors, and fell in love with both the movement and philosophy. After many years as a student she took her YTT and began teaching in both the public and private sector, and continues to be both a teacher and student of yoga. Caleigh has led lectures and classes for various studios, elementary and secondary schools, Camosun College, the Times Colonist runs, international dance day, and lululemon.

Caleigh is an advocate for movement education and has studied at the University of Derby (UK), Middlesex University (UK), Camosun College (Can), Center for Sport and Exercise Education (Can), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (UK&Can), Brahmanda School of Yoga (Can), and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance (USA). Caleigh holds her Master of Arts in Professional Practice Somatic Studies, a Bachelor in Sport and Fitness, is a certified fitness trainer, certified yoga instructor, and has her AISTD in Modern and Tap. Caleigh is currently completing her Doctorate in Sport and Exercise in Professional Practice at the University of Derby. 

Caleigh believes that movement creates empowered communities.
