Jennifer Bottoms

In 2016 I had a 10 month old baby and I was 21 weeks pregnant (unexpectedly) with my second baby. I saw a window of opportunity to attend Baptiste Power Yoga Level 1 training and I jumped on it because I was desperately searching for something that was just for me again.

I went on to have a total of 4 babies and throughout those 6 years, this practice was always there for me. It looked different in different seasons of my life but the lessons I repeatedly come back to are the same: that what matters most is not what we did last but what we do next and that in our most difficult of days it’s about moving forward any way we know how, not always the best way we know how.

Further, as a woman who has completed Ironman triathlons and several marathons, including recently achieving a personal best in the marathon at age 46 years old (3 hrs 26 minutes), my passion is utilizing fitness and my professional role as a neuropsychologist, to model and facilitate fitness as a vehicle to live a bold, confident life.

I am committed to leading because the practice of yoga has given me the courage to use my voice, the grace to be more kind to myself, and the strength to learn how to exist in a space where I do not lament the past or worry about the future, but instead, simply be where my feet are. It has taught me that the sooner we stop wanting things to be easy, the easier they become.  I teach this style of yoga to facilitate your experience of taking risks and being vulnerable so that you can see for yourself the transformation that is available to you time and again on your mat.  We may not trust the branch we are perched on but we can learn to have faith in our wings...
