Hi! My name is Abigail (Aby), and I have been a practicing yogi for over ten years. I discovered the power of 6am yoga classes while completing a business degree in college undergrad; I realized I needed an outlet for stress relief and to move my body before hours of class and studying. I quickly realized that group exercise is motivating for me in a way that individual exercise is not. During the Covid-19 pandemic I was fortunate enough to have free time in the evenings while quarantining and decided to take the leap and get CYT-200 certified. I am thankful that many yoga programs moved online during that time, making my certification more accessible with a work schedule. After completing my CYT-200 in December 2020 I began to teach at CorePower Yoga in Dallas, Texas, as well as teaching online. I maintained my 9-5 job in the non-profit space, using yoga as a supplement to my income and as a space to share my passion with others. In my day job I work with displaced people, specifically refugees, and have had the wonderful privilege of teaching yoga and fitness classes in refugee camps to women processing trauma. In July 2021 I expanded my catalogue of skills by getting certified in Yoga Sculpt through CorePower. I have taught in the Dallas and Denver markets and am relocating back to Texas with my husband in December 2024 and will continue to teach with CorePower. I still maintain my day job working for a national refugee resettlement agency mobilizing community members to support welcoming newcomers in their communities, but the best parts of my week are when I am on my mat flowing with my students. When I am not working or teaching you can find me reading or on a long walk with my husband and our dog, Artoo.
