I am Jaime Sims, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500+hrs) specializing in Advanced Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra Meditation, Seniors Yoga & Sound Baths. I am registered with both Yoga Alliance and Yoga Alliance Canada, and I am fully insured. Alongside my yoga qualifications, I hold certifications in Reiki (Levels 1 and 2) and a Level One Sound Healing Certification in Crystal Singing Bowls. I am also working toward a Practitioner Diploma in Integral Sound Healing, focusing on Crystal Singing Bowls for individual and group sessions, with an expected completion date of June 2025.

For over a decade, I have immersed myself in the practice of yoga, and it has been instrumental in building a foundation of mental health, balance, and inner peace—benefits I am passionate about sharing with others. In addition to my yoga practice, I am a Registered Nurse with a Master's degree in Leadership and Education. I work as a Nursing Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program at Trent University, where I integrate wellness strategies into the nursing curriculum and community. My work allows me to combine my healthcare expertise with my passion for wellness, creating a holistic approach to teaching and practice.

I am also an independent, freelance practitioner, teaching Breath-Based Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Pranayama, Self-Inquiry+ Meditation +Yoga Nidra and Sound Baths two- three days a week within the community.  Through my work, I strive to empower individuals to explore their physical, mental, and emotional well-being through mindful breathwork, dynamic and still postures, and grounding practices. My goal is to create a compassionate, inclusive space where individuals feel supported in their personal growth and resilience, regardless of their experience level.

My teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by my background in healthcare, which informs my holistic approach to wellness. I believe in the importance of mindfulness, breath, and movement as tools to foster a deeper connection to self and to cultivate balance in life. I aim to inspire resilience, self-discovery, and inner peace in my students, both on and off the mat, by integrating mindfulness and sound healing into my sessions. Through these practices, I strive to support holistic wellness and contribute positively to my students' lives and their communities.

In addition to my role as a nurse educator, I am the founder of Soulful Earth Yoga, a practice built on the belief that every individual, regardless of body, age, race, religion, or gender, deserves a space to explore their true self. Soulful Earth Yoga provides an inclusive, welcoming sanctuary where students can connect with their inner peace, practice intentional movement, and deepen their self-awareness. I honor each person’s pace and individuality, offering a supportive community where growth is celebrated, and challenges become opportunities for resilience and insight. My practice is dedicated to helping individuals dream boldly, embrace their journey, and remember that showing up as they are is always enough.

Through Soulful Earth Yoga, I aim to help others start creating with intention and soul, whether that’s on the mat or in their everyday lives.
