Nazia Ali Taurani

I have been practicing yoga for almost 5 years shortly after the birth of my son. Five years is not a very long time, but it has been the most transformational time of my life.

The postpartum period brought about numerous challenges, as I grappled with the physical and emotional adjustments of becoming a new mother while also attempting to regain my pre-pregnancy shape. It was during this time that I found myself yearning for a meaningful outlet to express myself and find solace.

Through a conversation with my closest friend, I learned about the power of yoga. She shared with me her own profound experience in a class, where she found immense peace and healing for both her mind and body. Intrigued, I decided to attend a class myself, although with some skepticism.

As I entered my very first class, I positioned myself inconspicuously in the back, fully absorbing the guidance and wisdom of the instructor. I observed with awe as the class moved gracefully from one pose to another, each movement flowing seamlessly like a choreographed dance. It was a fascinating fusion of physicality, mindfulness, and intentionality. Leaving that class, I felt revitalized and empowered, ready to take on any challenge that lay before me. I immediately committed to my yoga practice, eager to explore its depths and share its philosophy with others.

As I continued attending classes, my passion for yoga deepened, and I began contemplating the idea of becoming a yoga instructor myself. I yearned to share the transformative power of this practice with anyone willing to listen. After extensively researching different training programs, I was fortunate enough to embark on a six-month intensive yoga teacher certification course at Peachtree Yoga Center and graduated May 2023.

This comprehensive course provided me with a profound understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, asanas (poses), and teaching methodology. Under the guidance of Ilona Moore and Graham Fowler, both incredibly knowledgeable and approachable instructors, I received continuous support and constructive feedback that helped me refine my teaching skills. The program's emphasis on practical learning enabled me to build the confidence necessary to lead yoga classes. Through hands-on experience in practice sessions and the opportunity to observe and assist in classes, I gained a deeper understanding of effective sequencing, cueing, and adjusting postures.

I wholeheartedly recommend Peachtree Yoga Center to anyone considering a yoga teacher training program. The curriculum, the trainers, and the supportive environment all exceeded my expectations, leaving me feeling equipped and inspired to embark on my own journey as a yoga instructor.
